Bhagavad Gita에 이런 말이 나온다.

All actions are wrought by the qualities of nature only.  The self, deluded by egoism, thinketh: "I am the doer."  But he, O mighty-armed, who knoweth the essence of the divisions of the qualities and functions, holding that "the qualities move amid the qualities," is not attached. Those deluded by the qualities of nature are attached to the functions of the qualities. The man of perfect knowledge should not unsettle the foolish whose knowledge is imperfect.

자아와 세계는 서로 강력하게 연결되어 있다.   자아와 세계를 가로막는 경계선을 무너뜨릴 수 있을 때 인지/깨달음을 자각할 수 있다고 생각한다.

Levi, 'Nothing to Lose'임을 깨닫다. :: 2007/02/25 00:05

Levi가 모든 것을 버리고 일어나 좇았다고 하는데, 과연 그는 무엇을 버렸던 걸까?

내가 보기엔 Levi는 모든 것을 버린 것이 아니라 버릴 것이 없었다는 것을 깨닫고 난 후에 그를 좇은 것 같다.  

결국 누구나 무엇인가를 갖고 있다고 생각하고 살지만 본질까지 내려가다 보면 결국 'nothing to lose'라는 것을 깨닫게 되기 마련인 것 같다.  그게 무섭지만 진실인 것 같다.


After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and 'sinners'?" Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
